I wonder if anyone fell for the story, perhaps not.

I think your right, why use illegals when students are cheaper?

It is almost a rite of passage to do unpaid work experience and will be even more prevalent in a recession.  However if the experience gives real benefits to the placement then I believe it is worthwhile.
